What's Up in 4th Grade?

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation!  I enjoyed spending time with my family and getting some much needed rest.  I painted a room in my house, worked with my dog to try and teach him some manners, and I exercised a great deal.  The big news is that Rascal is going to start going to school at PetsMart!

Now, we are back to school, and it is time to get ready for testing.  We are definitely in crunch time, but I am so pleased with the learning that has taken place all year.  Please continue to encourage your child to do his/her best all of the time just as they have since August.  I don't want the children stressed and scared, but I do want them to take the test seriously.

We are working everyday to review terminology, test taking tips, and content.  If you see something that your child is struggling with, please send me a note.  If we haven't gotten to the content, please be patient.  If we have done it, we need to go over it again.

4th Grade Announcements

I am ordering tickets for the Globetrotters.  If you requested tickets, please send the money to school ASAP so we can reimburse the PTO.

The Practice LEAP will be the entire week of January 22.  Please do everything possible to have your child present at school.

There will be no school on Monday, January 21 in order to observe MLK.

The Winter Carnival is in a couple of weeks.  Please look for information about it.

The author of Champ will be here Friday, February 1, and we can't wait.  Children may want to but their own copy of Champ to have it autographed.

Please keep up with the Science Fair projects.  Dr. Ukpolo has changed the date, and it will be Wednesday, January 30.  All boards, reports, and presentations are due this day.
